From the desk of Dr. Kevin, MD
“If you wore makeup down your boobs, clean that too… don’t be lazy.”
I Asked a Bunch of Doctors What “Natural Remedies” They Actually Swear By
(Zero Bullsh*t!)
It’s Kevin here, and you’re reading The Saturday Scalpel.
So because it’s our final issue of the year, I did a highly scientific experiment.
I asked a bunch of doctors from different specialties one simple question:
“What’s one natural remedy you actually use or recommend?”
No BS.
No detox teas that taste like BS.
Just stuff they’d use on themselves or their own families.
Here’s what came back.
Dr. Ed Mueller (Pediatrics-ish Energy)
Honey for nighttime coughs.
If you’re over 1 year old (important!), honey works as well or better than over-the-counter cough syrup.
Why not under one year?
Because babies + honey → botulism risk → floppy baby syndrome → absolutely no bueno.
For everyone else:
It soothes the throat. It reduces coughing at night. It tastes good. Evidence-backed.
Nature: 1
Cough syrup that tastes like gasoline: 0
Dr. Isabella Van Holmes (Dermatology Brain)
White vinegar.
Dilute it 1 part vinegar : 3 parts water and suddenly you’ve got:
• Antifungal
• Antibacterial
• Cheap
• Smells like salad but works
Uses:
– Smelly feet
– Foot fungus
– Dandruff
– Minor wound cleaning
Is it sexy? No.
Does it work? Unfortunately, yes.
Dr. Jacobs From Somewhere Near Dusseldorf (Anesthesia, Chaos Neutral)
Alcohol wipes for nausea.
No, you don’t drink it. You sniff it.
Open an alcohol swab → Waft it under your nose →Your brain gets so distracted it forgets to puke.
Works for:
• Post-surgery nausea
• Morning sickness
• Random “why do I feel sick” moments
Sometimes works better than IV meds. I sh*t you not.
Medicine is weird.
Dr. Agapito Russo (GI Doctor, Big Fiber Energy)
Ginger.
Extensively studied.
Helps nausea from:
– Pregnancy
– Chemo
– Motion sickness
Bonus:
No constipation → No heart rhythm issues.
Unlike some prescription anti-nausea meds that choose violence.
Dr. Oliver (Emergency Medicine, Calm Panic)
Olive oil for ear wax. (I know 😑 it has nothing to do with his name)
A few drops → Softens wax → Saves you from ear syringing trauma.
Also:
If a ring gets stuck on your finger → Google “the string method.”
ER doctors use it all the time to avoid cutting rings off and ruining marriages.
Dr. Dimitriou (OB-GYN Energy)
Cranberry for UTIs.
The magic ingredient: proanthocyanidins (PACs)
They stop bacteria from sticking to your bladder wall.
Translation:
Bacteria slip → Get flushed out → Cry
Dose matters:
• 36 mg PACs daily
• Or 100% cranberry juice (not sugar cosplay)
Dr. Geldmann, DPM (Foot Doctor, Zero Patience)
Vicks VapoRub for toenail fungus.
Menthol = antifungal
Camphor = antimicrobial
Does it cure it completely? No topical does.
Does it slow it down and help? Yes, if you’re consistent and emotionally committed.
🧠 Dr. James (Psychiatry)
Exercise.
Improves mood → Reduces anxiety → Helps sleep → Lowers dementia risk.
Even in arthritis, exercise reduces inflammation and pain. Yes, even when your joints scream at first.
Movement is medicine. Annoying, cliche, but f**king true.

Sleep.
Free. Legal. Underrated.
During sleep you release:
• Growth hormone (healing)
• Immune-supporting cytokines
• Neurotransmitters that regulate mood, metabolism, and pain
Good sleep = Less pain → Better hormones → Stronger immunity → Better mental health
Fix your sleep before buying another supplement.
Dr. Kevin’s Final Diagnosis
Natural remedies aren’t magic. But some are simple, boring, and stupidly effective.
Honey. Ginger. Sleep. Movement. Vinegar that smells like your ex’s armpits.
No influencer discount code required.
Now go be healthy, or at least slightly less chaotic.
Until next Saturday… or should I say next year? 😒
Stay sexy,
Dr. Kevin Cutthebull, MD
